Question 36 of 180

The total charge on the system of capacitance C1=1μF,C2=2μF,C3=4μF{C}_{1}=1\mu F,{C}_{2}=2\mu F,{C}_{3}=4\mu F and C4=3μF{C}_{4}=3\mu F connected in parallel is
(Assume a battery of
20V20V is connected to the combination)

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) 200μC200\mu C

As the given capacitors are in parallel combination, therefore,Ceq=(1+2+3+4)μF=10μF{C}_{eq}=\left(1+2+3+4\right)\mu F=10\mu F
Hence, charge flown through the switch
∴Q=(20V)×(10μF)=200μC∴Q=\left(20V\right)\times \left(10\mu F\right)=200\mu C
