Question 169 of 180

For the given input voltage waveform Vin(t),{V}_{\text{in}}(t), the output voltage waveform V0(t),{V}_{0}(t), across the capacitor is correctly depicted by :

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A)

When first pulse is applied the potential across capacitor is given by
V=V0(1−e−tRC)V={V}_{0}\left(1-{e}^{-\dfrac{t}{RC}}\right)
When no pulse is applied, capacitor will discharge like
V=V0′et/RCV={V}_{0}^{'}{e}^{t/RC} when again, second pulse is applied V=V0(1−e−tRC)V={V}_{0}\left(1-{e}^{-\dfrac{t}{RC}}\right)
Using all three equations the correct graph is :
