Question 109 of 153

Consider an electrical circuit containing a two way switch S.S. Initially SS is open and then T1{T}_{1} is connected to T2.{T}_{2}. As the current in R=6ΩR=6\Omega attains a maximum value of steady-state level, T1{T}_{1} is disconnected from T2{T}_{2} and immediately connected to T3.{T}_{3}. Potential drop across r=3Ωr=3\Omega resistor immediately after T1{T}_{1} is connected to T3{T}_{3} is ______V. (Round off to the Nearest Integer)

Show answer and solution

Answer: 3

When T1{T}_{1} and T2{T}_{2} are connected, then the steady state current in the inductor I=66=1AI=\dfrac{6}{6}=1A
When
T1{T}_{1} and T3{T}_{3} are connected then current through inductor remains same. So potential difference across 3Ω3\Omega
V=Ir=1×3=3V=Ir=1\times 3=3 VV
