Ray Optics

JEE Main level, single correct, medium

6 of 295

Question 6 of 295

When one light ray is reflected from a plane mirror with 30∘30^{\circ} angle of reflection, the angle of deviation of the ray after reflection is:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) 120∘120^{\circ}

It is given that i=30∘i=30^{\circ}.

The formula for angle of deviation is

δ=180∘−2i\delta =180^{\circ}-2i
Substituting the values,

δ=180∘−60∘\delta =180^{\circ}-60^{\circ}
=120∘=120^{\circ}
