Question 56 of 180

A capacitor C1\mathrm{C}_1 is charged up to a voltage V=\mathrm{V}= 60 V60 \mathrm{~V} by connecting it to battery B\mathrm{B} through switch (1), Now C1\mathrm{C}_1 is disconnected from battery and connected to a circuit consisting of two uncharged capacitors C2=3.0μF\mathrm{C}_2=3.0 \mu \mathrm{F} and C3=6.0μF\mathrm{C}_3=6.0 \mu \mathrm{F} through a switch (2)(2) as shown in the figure. The sum of final charges on C2\mathrm{C}_2 and C3\mathrm{C}_3 is:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) 36μC36 \mu \mathrm{C}

The sum of final charges on C2\mathrm{C}_2 and C3\mathrm{C}_3 is 36 μC\mu \mathrm{C}.
