Dual Nature of Matter

JEE Main level, single correct, medium

52 of 200

Question 52 of 200

A particle of mass 4M4M at rest disintegrates into two particles of mass MM and 3M3M, respectively, having non zero velocities. The ratio of de-Broglie wavelength of particle of mass MM to that of mass 3M3M will be:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (D) 1:11:1

λ=hp\lambda =\dfrac{h}{p}
Both the particles will move with momentum same in magnitude and opposite in direction.

So de Broglie wavelength of both will be same, i.e., ratio
1:11:1.
