Question 99 of 308

The velocity-displacement graph describing the motion of a bicycle is shown in the figure.

The acceleration-displacement graph of the bicycle's motion is best described by :

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A)

For 0≤x≤2000\leq x\leq 200
v=mx+Cv=mx+C
v=15x+10v=\dfrac{1}{5}x+10
a=vdvdx=(x5+10)(15)a=\dfrac{vdv}{dx}=\left(\dfrac{x}{5}+10\right)\left(\dfrac{1}{5}\right)
a=x25+2⇒a=\dfrac{x}{25}+2\Rightarrow Straight line till x=200x=200
for
x>200x\gt 200
v=v= constant
⇒a=0\Rightarrow a=0
