Question 188 of 308

A swimmer wants to cross a river from point AA to point BB. Line AB makes an angle of 30∘30^{\circ} with the flow of the river. The magnitude of the velocity of the swimmer is the same as that of the river. The angle θ\theta with the line ABAB should be _______∘^{\circ}, so that the swimmer reaches point BB.

Show answer and solution

Answer: 30

Both velocity vectors are of same magnitude therefore resultant would pass exactly midway through them
θ=30∘\theta =30^{\circ}
