Question 93 of 191

In a Young's double slit experiment, light of 500nm500nm is used to produce and interference pattern. When the distance between the slits is 0.05mm,0.05mm, the angular width (in degree) of the fringes formed on the distance screen is close to :

Show answer and solution

Answer: (B) 0.57∘0.57^{\circ}

β0=λd=500×10−95×10−5=10−2{\beta }_{0}=\dfrac{\lambda }{d}=\dfrac{500\times {10}^{-9}}{5\times {10}^{-5}}={10}^{-2} rad
∴β0=0.57∘∴{\beta }_{0}=0.57^{\circ}
