Question 111 of 183

A particle (m=1kg)\left(m=1kg\right) slides down a frictionless track (AOC)\left(AOC\right) starting from rest at a point AA (height 2m2m ). After reaching C,C, the particle continues to move freely in air as a projectile. When it reaching its highest point PP (height 1m1m ), the kinetic energy of the particle (in JJ ) is: (Figure drawn is schematic and not to scale; take g=10ms−2g=10m{s}^{-2} ) ______________.

Show answer and solution

Answer: 10

KEP−KEA=PEP−PEA=mghP−mghAK{E}_{P}-{KE}_{A}=P{E}_{\text{P}}-P{E}_{\text{A}}=mg{h}_{\text{P}}-mg{h}_{\text{A}}
=1×10×2−1×10×1=10J=1\times 10\times 2-1\times 10\times 1=10J
