Answer: (B) 66

Energy of HH -atom is E=−13.6Z2/n2E=-13.6{Z}^{2}/{n}^{2} for HH-atom Z=1Z=1 and for ground state, n=1n=1
⇒E=−13.6×1212=−13.6eV\Rightarrow E=-13.6\times \dfrac{{1}^{2}}{{1}^{2}}=-13.6eV
Now for carbon atom (single ionised), Z=6Z=6
E=−13.6Z2n2=−13.6E=-13.6\dfrac{{Z}^{2}}{{n}^{2}}=-13.6 (given)
⇒n2=62⇒n=6\Rightarrow {n}^{2}={6}^{2}\Rightarrow n=6
