A water fountain on the ground sprinkles water all around it. If the speed of water coming out of the fountain is v\mathrm{v}, the total area around the fountain that gets wet is :

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) πv4g2\pi \frac{v^4}{g^2}

Max. range =u2 g=\frac{u^2}{\mathrm{~g}} i.e., v2 g\frac{v^2}{\mathrm{~g}} (radius of circle)
 Area occupied =π(v2 g)2=πv4 g2\text { Area occupied }=\pi\left(\frac{\mathrm{v}^2}{\mathrm{~g}}\right)^2=\frac{\pi \mathrm{v}^4}{\mathrm{~g}^2}
