JEE Main level, single correct, medium

5 of 126

Question 5 of 126

On celcius scale the temperature of body increases by 40∘C40^{\circ} \mathrm{C}. The increase in temperature on Fahrenheit scale is :

Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) 72∘F72^{\circ} \mathrm{F}

We know that per ∘C{ }^{\circ} \mathrm{C} change is equivalent to 1.8∘1.8^{\circ} change in ∘F{ }^{\circ} \mathrm{F}.
∴40∘\therefore 40^{\circ} change on celcius scale will corresponds to 72∘72^{\circ} change on Fahrenheit scale.
Hence option (3)
