Question 51 of 380

Equivalent resistance of the following network is ________ Ω\Omega.

Show answer and solution

Answer: 1

In the above diagram,
6Ω6\Omega is short circuit. Therefore, we can remove it.

In the left part,
2Ω2\Omega and 2Ω2\Omega are in parallel combination, which will give us 1Ω1\Omega which again in turn is in series combination with the 2Ω2\Omega(adjacent to 3Ω3\Omega resistor), therefore net contribution of this part will be 1Ω+2Ω=3Ω1\Omega +2\Omega =3\Omega.

Now, all three
3Ω3\Omega are in parallel across point A & B, therefore Req=3×13=1Ω{R}_{eq}=3\times \dfrac{1}{3}=1\Omega
