Question 357 of 380

The resistance of a galvanometer is 50ohm50ohm and the maximum current which can be passed through it is 0.002A.0.002A. What resistance must be connected to it in order to convert it into an ammeter of range 0−0.5A?0-0.5A?

Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) 0.2ohm0.2ohm

RGig=Rsis{R}_{G}{i}_{g}={R}_{s}{i}_{s}
50×0.002=Rs(0.498)50\times 0.002={R}_{s}\left(0.498\right)
Rs=0.2Ohm{R}_{s}=0.2 Ohm
