Question 137 of 223

If one wants to remove all the mass of the earth to infinity in order to break it up completely. The amount of energy that needs to be supplied will be x5GM2R\dfrac{x}{5}\dfrac{G{M}^{2}}{R} where xx is ________.
(Round off to the Nearest Integer)

(
MM is the mass of earth, RR is the radius of earth, GG is the gravitational constant)

Show answer and solution

Answer: 3

Energy given =Uf−Ui={U}_{f}-{U}_{i}
=0−(−35GM2R)=0-\left(-\dfrac{3}{5}\dfrac{G{M}^{2}}{R}\right)
=35GM2R=\dfrac{3}{5}\dfrac{G{M}^{2}}{R}
x=3x=3
