For a gas having degrees of freedom nn,
CV=nR2{C}_{V}=\dfrac{nR}{2} and using Mayer's relation CP=CV+R{C}_{P}={C}_{V}+R. Therefore,
CVCP=nn+2\dfrac{{C}_{V}}{{C}_{P}}=\dfrac{n}{n+2}.
