Question 216 of 380

In the circuit, given in the figure currents in different branches and value of one resistor are shown. Then potential at point BB with respect to the point AA is:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (D) +1V+1V

Using kirchhoff's law in the circuit
ACDBACDB, we get
Voltage at
BB= voltage at AA + voltage of battery of 1V1V + potential difference across 2Ω2\Omega resistance - voltage of battery of 2V2V
⇒VA+1+2(1)−2=VB\Rightarrow {V}_{A}+1+2(1)-2={V}_{B}
Now potential at point
BB with respect to point AA is given by,
⇒VB−VA=1V\Rightarrow {V}_{B}-{V}_{A}=1V
