Question 44 of 194

Y=Asin⁡(ωt+ϕ0)Y=A\sin \left(\omega t+{\phi }_{0}\right) is the time-displacement equation of a SHM.SHM. At t=0t=0 the displacement of the particle is Y=A2Y=\dfrac{A}{2} and it is moving along negative xx-direction. Then the initial phase angle ϕ0{\phi }_{0} will be:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) 5π6\dfrac{5\pi }{6}

Initial phase
π2+π3=5π6\dfrac{\pi }{2}+\dfrac{\pi }{3}=\dfrac{5\pi }{6}.
Also it can be seen as below

The initial phase angle
ϕ0=π−π6{\phi }_{0}=\pi -\dfrac{\pi }{6}
=5π6=\dfrac{5\pi }{6}
