Question 97 of 209

The V−IV-I characteristic of a diode is shown in the figure. The ratio of forward to reverse bias resistance is:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) 10−6{10}^{-6}

Forward bias resistance R1=0.8−0.7(20−10)×10−3=0.110×10−3=10Ω{R}_{1}=\dfrac{0.8-0.7}{\left(20-10\right)\times {10}^{-3}}=\dfrac{0.1}{10\times {10}^{-3}}=10\Omega.

Reverse bias resistance
R2=1010−6=107Ω{R}_{2}=\dfrac{10}{{10}^{-6}}={10}^{7}\Omega.

R1R2=10−6\dfrac{{R}_{1}}{{R}_{2}}={10}^{-6}.
