Question 96 of 209

The reading of the ammeter for a silicon diode in the given circuit is:

Show answer and solution

Answer: (D) 11.5mA11.5mA

Given, R=200ΩR=200\Omega and V=3VV=3V. We have to calculate the current. We know that, a potential barrier across silicon diode =0.7V=0.7V.

V=IRV=IR⇒I=3−0.7200=0.0115A=11.5mA\Rightarrow I=\dfrac{3-0.7}{200}=0.0115A=11.5mA
So, the current is
11.5mA11.5mA.
